These Chinese style sticky chicken wings live up to their name! They are so incredibly sticky and full of flavour that you’ll want to keep eating more of them and licking those fingers! They are so easy to make and are great as a starter or a side dish with lots of other yummy food.
Last week we went food shopping and came across some chicken wings, I’ve never really seen them in the supermarket before, but then I’ve not really been looking for them. They are something I’ve been thinking about doing for a while now so I thought I’d give it a whirl!
I wanted to make them really sticky that’s why I added plenty of honey and the sugar which caramelises to give them that gooey stickyness. I packed them full of flavour by adding the soy, sesame oil and the Chinese five spice which gave it an extra kick with the aniseed flavour making it taste really oriental.
I decided to marinade the wings first in the fridge so that the flavour would soak in, the longer you can do this before cooking the better flavour you will get. By scraping the marinade off and putting them in the oven the chicken wings will crisp up more and the sauce wont burn. By using the extra sauce and reducing it to pour over will make your wings extra sticky!
