Hello and welcome! I’m Lucy and I work full time at Globe Scoffers. I spend my days coming up with new ideas, taking photos but most of all spending lots of time cooking in the kitchen. My boyfriend Dean works behind the scenes editing and doing anything technical, he also has his own business as an app developer.
Before starting Globe Scoffers I spent the last 15 years working as a hairdresser and beauty therapist. This took me all around the world, especially working and living on a cruise liner for 8 months. One of the best things I can say about life on board the ship was that I woke up in a different place on most days. On the other hand it was probably the hardest job I’ve ever done!
I was also very lucky to travel around the world backpacking for 7 months, visiting Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the USA.
Still not settling in England I then moved to Bermuda and worked out there for 10 months in a local salon. Meeting Dean just 3 weeks before I left was not quite what I had planned, but 6 years later I don’t need to say much more than that Bermuda holds a very special place in our hearts!
Having Dean by my side and always encouraging me, I finally took the plunge to hang my scissors up and become a full time food blogger – and I’ve not looked back.
I absolutely love food and travel and want to share my experiences with you. We tend to follow our stomachs around the world, hence the name Globe Scoffers. I want to inspire you all with where you can visit and all the delicious food out there!
There’s not much I don’t like (well apart from bananas – yuk!). Some of our favourite cuisines are probably Indian, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and Japanese. I’m a big fan of enjoying everything in moderation – so yes I do eat naughty stuff too. My motto is to enjoy life and live it to the full.
