Today I bring you the classic Italian Spritz! It is commonly served as an aperitif in northern Italy. This simple cocktail is known as the drink of the summer.
During our holiday in Italy we kept seeing people with wine glasses containing something bright orange. We found out what it was and proceeded to order one each! Straight away I loved it, it tastes sooo good and was very refreshing… the first one of many went down a treat! We sat in the square on Bologna taking it all in, sipping our Spritz eating some really yummy Italian olives, life was good and we were really enjoying our holiday.
You don’t see Aperol much in UK super markets, well not unless you’re looking for it, but you should be able to get it at most. Until now I feel like I’ve been missing out as I’d never really heard of a Spritz before. So we decided to find out how to make it and share this classic cocktail with you. I now have a bottle in my kitchen and on a summers day I will definitely be making myself one or three. Give it a go you wont be disappointed! Let me know when you do in the comments below!
